The song "The Moon Lute" was written by lyricist Lee Tong, whose real name was Lai Xi'an, with music composed by Su Lai. This piece was specifically created to honor the legendary Taiwanese folk musician Chen Da. Within the lyrics, the phrase "The Melody of Memory (思想起)" refers to Chen Da's favorite song, which he often performed while holding his moon lute. Through his mournful voice, he conveyed the hardships faced by early settlers crossing the seas to pioneer in Taiwan. In 1980, 19-year-old Yvonne Jeng(鄭怡) had the opportunity to perform this song, and it became an instant sensation, marking the start of her brilliant career in the Mandarin pop music scene. "The Moon Lute" has since become one of her signature songs. The song's melody and Yvonne Jeng's voice perfectly matched, almost as if it had been composed specifically for her. Initially, Su Lai intended for his friend Li Jianfu(李建復) to sing the song, believing it was better suited for a male voice. However, producer Lee Guoqiang insisted on keeping it, emphasizing the deep meaning of the song and the hard work invested in its creation. In the end, the song remained on the album. Not only did "The Moon Lute" become widely popular, but it also grew into a timeless classic, commemorating the musical legacy of Chen Da. During that time, from the late period of Japanese rule to the early period when the government of the Republic of China took over Taiwan, the people crossed in sorrow under the alien rule. Also, they showed a touch of sadness in the music. These songs are love songs of that era and are still catchy songs for many Taiwanese people. Due to the social unrest at that time, the love between men and women was difficult to develop. These songs also expressed the helplessness and sadness of the Taiwanese young people at that time. In fact, these songs all have very beautiful lyrics. To perfectly represent everyone's childhood memories, and it is said that fans were disappointed to the finale of the power game season 8, I decided to cooperate again with my cello partner Wu Yo Yo, which will definitely make everyone satisfied ! I’m touched by the meaning behind Aladdin when Aladdin and Jasmine changed their perspectives, broke the stereotypes established and finally saw each other’s true inner self. Instead of playing at National Concert Hall and being the best violinist, the expected career path from the society toward those majoring in music, I chose to performing as a busker, passing the healing power of music, getting closer to everyone, and sharing my music and the touching moments with everyone. There were soooo many unexpected obstacles about the filming of this cover. It was supposed to film in the early morning, but started to rain heavily. This composition showcases Vittorio Monti's compositional prowess through its distinctive style and intricate musical phrases. Vittorio Monti, being a violinist himself, originally composed this piece for violin and piano. This composition, rich with Gypsy flavor, features challenging tempo and rhythm variations. Performers can use these variations and technical skills to express emotions fully. "Czardas" is an excellent piece to display performance techniques and stage presence, often featured as an encore in concerts. It is based on one of the Chinese legend, Hua Mulan who impersonates a man to take her father's place during a general conscription to counter a Hun invasion during the Han Dynasty. In the year 2020, the movie is remake with an American costume war as the background of the movie, also it uses few of the classic songs from the animated film. I'm here happy to invite one of the BangDi player (梆笛) from the Suzhou National Orchestra and now who is a master performer from Department of National Music, National Tainan University of Arts, Guo Hong Xi (郭虹希) to have a duet collaboration with me to make a cover of this song.
